What if the most powerful shift we could foster through coaching is not simply behavioural or cognitive – but existential?
In this hour-long lecture for the Animas Centre for Coaching, I introduce transpersonal coaching as a pathway toward meaning-making, interconnectedness, and transformative change. I challenge the dominance of individualism – the “Me” mindset that has shaped much of Western culture – and invite you to coach toward a deeper sense of “We.”
While individualism has brought personal freedoms and self-actualisation, it also risks fostering disconnection, loneliness, and a burdened sense of self-responsibility. In an era marked by polarisation, ecological crisis, and technological acceleration, many clients are reaching for something more: purpose, meaning, and a renewed sense of belonging.
Far from abstract theory, this is a call to action for coaches who feel the urgency of our times.
